Swedish U22 National Championships- Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Amanda Wallin double Swedish U22 national champion!

The Swedish U22 Championships were played this past weekend. Of the Swedish Pro Team players only Amanda Wallin is still under 22 and she entered the tournament in the doubles and mixed doubles category. In doubles she won comfortably together with doubles partner Louise Eriksson. In the mixed doubles her regular partner was sick and her temporary mixed doubles partner had to withdraw due to inhury in the semifinals. However, thanks to another withdrawn player Amanda decided to try her hand at the singles category, something she hasn't played in years. This turned out to be a good trial run since she went on all the way to the final where she beat Clara Nistad in straight sets. So two titles, one sort of expected and one very unexpected one! Big congratulations to Amanda.
